The transfer of goalkeeper Rob Elliot to Premier League side Newcastle United has been completed for an undisclosed fee, the Addicks announced on Tuesday night.
Charlton confirmed earlier in the day that the 25-year-old custodian had travelled to the Magpies' training ground while the two clubs concluded negotiations regarding the switch.
Addicks officials had rejected a £100,000 bid from United for the academy product on August 17th, but the deal was concluded 24 hours before the end of the August transfer window.
Elliot, a boyhood Charlton fan who watched the Addicks return to The Valley from the Covered End aged just six years old in 1992, made 109 appearances for the club since making his debut in April 2008.
He was named player of the year runner-up to Nicky Bailey in 2008/09, and started the opening four league games of the current campaign.
Reaction to Elliot's transfer from Addicks boss Chris Powell will follow at www.cafc.co.uk on Wednesday morning.
